The new Olympic record was registered by Mirabai Chanu with a successful lift of 115kg in clean and jerk. Indonesia's Aisah Windy Cantika ended up with the Bronze after a strong show in the Clean and Jerk round. The event also saw an unfortunate end to the career of legendary weightlifter Miyake Hiromi career. The Japanese legend could not go out on a high as she came up with the most disappointing performance in her storied career.
