Trade exchange between Egypt, Arab countries increases by19.2% in H1 of 2022


CAIRO - 1 November 2022: Trade exchange between Egypt and the Arab countries increased by 19.2 percent during the first half of 2022, to record $14.4 billion, compared to $12.1 billion during the same period in 2021, according to a report by the Central Agency For Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS). CAPMAS revealed that Egypt’s exports to Arab countries amounted to $5.9 billion during the first half of 2022, compared to $5.4 billion during the same period in 2021, marking an increase of $466.5 million or 8.6 percent. Sudan’s exports to Egypt recorded $261.6 million, followed by Jordan at $120.7 million, Lebanon at $108.4 million, Libya at $51.5 million, and Qatar at $39.5 million. The value of remittances from Egyptians working in Arab countries increased 10.9 percent to reach $21.9 billion during the fiscal year 2020/21, compared to $19.8 billion during the fiscal year 2019/2020. The value of Arab countries’ investments in Egypt recorded $3.98 billion during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $4 billion during the fiscal year 2019/2020, marking a decrease of 0.4 percent.
