Tributes have been paid to footballing legend Sir Bobby Charlton who has died at the age of 86. He was an iconic ambassador for United and Sir Bobby scored 249 goals in 758 games in red. A statement from the family of Sir Bobby said: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sir Bobby passed peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning. He said: "Very sad news today 1 of the true Greats Sir Bobby Charlton has passed away. Manchester United and Scotland legend Sir Alex Ferguson previously praised his friend for still being down to earth despite being such a popular figure.
