Tripura Tribal Welfare and Forest Minister Mevar Kumar Jamatia was injured in a road accident on Wednesday near the Civil Secretariat here, the police said. Although Mr. Jamatia escaped with minor injuries, an Assam Rifles jawan was seriously injured. “The accident occurred at 10.30 a.m. when Mr. Jamatia’s official vehicle was entering the Secretariat complex. Mr. Kaushik was admitted to the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in a serious condition, Medical Superintended Kingshuk Dutta said. Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb visited the Minister.
