President Trump and first lady Melania Trump made a surprise visit to American troops in Iraq Wednesday, marking the president’s first visit to a U.S. military combat zone. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders announced the visit in a tweet that included a photo of Mr. Trump and the first lady surrounded by smiling troops in what appeared to be a dining hall at the al-Asad air base in western Iraq.
