President Trump may never seek out Florida State basketball coach Leonard Hamilton for political advice. But perhaps Mr. Trump could have benefited from Hamilton’s counsel when he threatened to veto a major spending bill last week. A recess would buy time to write a temporary funding measure and determine if President Trump was showboating. This was the quintessence of the “swamp” which President Trump campaigned against. So in the words of philosopher-king Leonard Hamilton, “the game was over” when Mr. Trump issued his veto threat.
