Two women removed from Scarborough Bluffs in ‘extraordinarily dangerous’ rescue operation

Two women had to be rescued from the Scarborough Bluffs Sunday afternoon in a “extraordinarily dangerous” operation, the second such effort in as many days. Toronto Fire Services tweeted shortly before 3:30 p.m. that they were working to rescue two women. This 2017 file photo shows hikers on the Scarborough Bluffs — not all areas are dangerous, but thrill-seekers climbing beyond the marked trails can create difficult situations for rescuers. Toronto Fire Services were called to the area twice this weekend to rescue people who became stranded while attempting to climb the bluffs. On Saturday, firefighters were tied up with another Bluffs rescue after two people got stuck 100 metres from the top of the cliff.
