The Chief Executive Officer, of the United Logistics Company has underscored the tremendous growth of young women entrepreneurs in south Saharan Africa, especially Liberia since the establishment of the Global Entrepreneurship by the United States. Mr. Eric Hage, a Liberian businessman said women entrepreneurs in post-conflict economies have other the years faced with lots of challenges at embryonic stages such as vision and management; access to finance and markets; and access to role models and networks, with the women of Liberia being no exception. “Women of Liberia are significantly grateful to the President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, for the strides she has made in the advancement and attainment of the rightful place for women not only in Liberia but Africa as a continent and all women across the world. He recalled that since ascendancy of the President, there have been a profound political and technical will for the establishment and identification of operational lessons and proposes recommendations on how to support women entrepreneurs and contribute meaningful ways to their economic empowerment especially in the transition from post-conflict to reconstruction and development. Hage further congratulated the President for continuously highlighting obstacles faced by women in Liberia, south Saharan Africa, and other parts of the world in reaching greater heights in the world of business such as, limited financial infrastructure, restricted access to markets, and most importantly, insufficient networks to support women entrepreneurs, stifle efforts to create sustainable solutions for women entrepreneurs.
