After his arrival in Tripoli on Friday, the new UNSMIL head Abdoulaye Bathily conducted round robin meetings with the Tripoli-based and incumbent caretaker prime minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba and Presidency Council head Mohamed Menfi Sunday. UNSMIL reported that Aldabaiba welcomed Bathily into the country and offered to extend his government’s support to his good offices. UNSMIL reported that they exchanged views on the situation in Libya and Aldabaiba shared his analysis of options to advance peace and stability in the country. At today’s meeting in Gubba with HoR Speaker Saleh UNSMIL reported that the two discussed options to address the political situation.
