National’s Todd Muller has been texting suspended Sam Uffindell “every second or third day”, as the investigation into the Tauranga MP’s past behaviour drags on. Muller says Uffindell, who was elected in June, remained in “pretty good shape” so far. But those two weeks have come to an end and the National Party now says it will take another “couple of weeks”. Uffindell, who had been in the National Party caucus for less than two months, remains suspended from caucus. Luxon and Uffindell says he had been open about his time at King’s College and had disclosed it during the National Party selection process.
