On August 17, oud player Hassan Tahir will be performing in the downtown library’s Snell Auditorium (4818 49 St.) from 12:15 – 1 p.m. The oud is a plucked string instrument of North Africa and Middle Eastern origin with a short neck and lack of frets. Tahir is a musician, singer and composer, specializing in playing the oud and tabl drums.
