Union Minister and former Army chief VK Singh on Thursday requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order a high-level inquiry into the alleged planting of "fallacious" stories to the media about an attempted coup in 2012. There was no doubt that there were some who went to town for some ulterior motive," Singh told ANI. "I have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday stating that this needs to be investigated at the highest level to expose these people, who have committed treason against the country. Let's leave it to the judgement of the Prime Minister," the Union Minister said. Singh, was attempting a coup to topple the government."
