Coach Travis Green said on Sunday that he hopes Hughes’ transition from college hockey to pro will be clean and quick. I want to play him as much as I can.”Some Vancouver hockey fans caught a glimpse of the young star when the city hosted the world junior hockey championships in January. Canucks general manager Jim Benning said in a statement on Sunday that Hughes was a leader on his college team and has had success at the international level. “We’re excited for (him) to join our team and continue to grow his game as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.”
