An engineering student from Bengaluru, Santosh was thrashed by a group of people after he allegedly posted derogatory statements on social media about how the Kannada film actors protested and showed their support for the Cauvery water sharing issue on Friday. The victim allegedly posted pictures with remarks against leading Kannada actors such as Shivrajkumar, DuniyaVijay, Ragini Dwivedi and Darshan. A video of the incident has been circulating on the social media.
