WWE Crown Jewel 2018 Results: The Miz Gets Shortchanged As Shane McMahon Somehow Wins The World Cup

WWE Crown Jewel 2018 played host to the first-ever WWE World Cup, an eight-man tournament that ultimately crowned Shane McMahon "the best in the world." Instead, WWE ran an injury angle that resulted in The Miz being replaced by SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon, who defeated Ziggler to win the tournament for SmackDown. WWE reportedly had rather bizarre political reasoning behind putting on the World Cup in the first place and found itself as a target of criticism when an event titled "World Cup," ironically enough, featured eight superstars that are all from the United States. Certainly, the World Cup featured a slew of superstars who really didn't need to win the tournament at this stage of their careers. And the one who should be complaining about it the most is the man who should have won the tournament, The Miz.
