Photo GettyKiwis Tom Walsh and Jacko Gill have made light work of the men's shot put qualifiers at the World Athletics Championships in London. Walsh threw a season's best 22.14 metres, while Gill produced his best throw in seven months as he chucked 20.96m. Jacko Gill is elated with the ease in which he qualified. Compatriot Walsh got an early mental advantage over American rivals Ryan Crouser and Joe Kovacs, topping the qualifying standings. The Princeton University student threw a best of 64.72 metres which wasn't good enough to advance to the final.
