KANGAR: A 33-year-old warden at the Perlis Correctional Centre was detained after he allegedly accepted bribes to smuggle contraband for the inmates. State Malaysian Anti-corruption Commission (MACC) officers detained the man at about 7pm on Wednesday when he came to the office for questioning. He is alleged to have accepted RM3,300 in several transactions which were banked into his personal account throughout March. State MACC director Yaacop Angah confirmed the arrest but declined to comment.
