The United States has included Algeria among countries with worst records in fighting human trafficking, blaming the Algerian authorities for their continued lack of action and will to prevent this scourge. In its latest annual report “Trafficking in Persons Report” released Thursday, the State Department listed Algeria in Tier 3 group, the worst category. Furthermore, the Algerian regime has made no efforts to identify and provide services to trafficking victims. While NGOs and international organizations reported assisting several trafficking victims, the Algerian government did not report any victim. However, unidentified victims continued to face arrest, detention, prosecution, and deportation for illegal migration, prostitution….
