It is perhaps one of those “blessings in disguise” our profoundly insightful Health secretary has recognized in the pandemic that has otherwise stood normal life completely on its head. One must suspect that, if data on this was included, the news would be decidedly less comforting. The Philippines presents a near-perfect combination of circumstance, opportunity and low risk of detection or failure. That leaves cybersecurity up to us; the criminals count on their victims being inattentive and uninformed, so make an effort to not be like that. You would probably never see any action taken as a result, but such reports do provide information that helps cybersecurity efforts in the long run.
