KUALA LUMPUR (April 10): West River Bhd (KL:WESTRVR) has secured a RM25.2 million contract to provide electrical engineering services for a data centre located in the “southern region of Peninsular Malaysia”. As per the subcontract, West River Engineering will be responsible for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning, and maintenance of electrical services for a cable landing station (CLS) building, which provides hosting, data processing services, and data centre-related activities. West River said works are expected to be completed within 82 days from the commencement date, which was not provided in the filing. “This contract marks a significant milestone for the group as we make our entry into the data centre sector,” said West River managing director Lim Yong Lai in a separate statement. West River Engineering is principally involved in the provision of mechanical and electrical engineering services, which includes air conditioning and mechanical ventilation as well as intelligent building solutions.
