Woman who lost voice for 2 months finally gets it back

By the end of March, Emily finally began to speak again, but her voice sounded nothing like the Essex accent she had before. After months of confusion, Emily has finally been diagnosed with foreign accent syndrome - a rare speech disorder caused by brain damage. Doctors ruled out a stroke but were left confused when Emily lost the ability to speak completely during her hospital stay. She was diagnosed with foreign accent syndrome after returning from Thailand and now her voice rapidly changes between Polish, Russian, French and Italian. Again a symptom of a stroke, Emily was rushed to hospital and has now been diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder as well.
