Berhampur: The 17th Senior Women's National Boxing Championship got off to a colourful start here on Sunday. The championship, which is being organised by Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) in collaboration with Boxing Odisha, will witness the cream of country's women boxers battling it out for the top honours. It will definitely encourage and inspire the girls from Odisha to take up boxing as a sport," said IABF secretary-general Rakesh Thakran. The championship attaches significance as it will serve as a selection platform to pick the best four women boxing probables for the next Olympics. "Six boxers from Odisha are taking part in this competition and all of them are from Bhubaneswar.
