Woody Harrelson, PETA team up, urge Texas governor to ban 'cruel' Bacon Bash event

Actor and Texas native Woody Harrelson has sent a letter to Texas Governor Greg Abbott asking him to ban a wild hog catch event in Bandera, claiming it violates Texas animal cruelty laws. Harrelson was moved to compose the plea after PETA shared video of pigs and piglets being wrangled and chased at the now-controversial annual Bandera Bacon Bash. “At this year's event in March, which eyewitnesses recorded, screaming, frightened pigs were chased around an arena. Sponsors Bandera Wranglers have defended the event, which raises money for different nonprofits in Bandera – coined the Cowboy Capital of the World. “We will prevail until every animal is free.”However, the Bandera Wranglers are not backing down – despite reportedly receiving death threats on social media.
