Starting Monday, literati from across Canada and beyond will grace the Wordfest stage to discuss recent projects, fashion and more during the weeklong Imaginarium festival . Every year, Wordfest invites artists to participate in various events, like panels, workshops, readings and speaker series. Three distinguished writers with connections to Calgary are included in the 2018 lineup: Joshua Whitehead, Esi Edugyan and Paige Cooper. “People will respond to it and the vulnerability it takes to lay yourself out there like that.”Starting in 2012, Cooper balanced various day jobs in multiple cities with short-story writing. Cooper unapologetically describes her short-story collection as “super feminist.”“It’s definitely a feminist book that examines masculinity and misogyny,” Cooper said.
