The Finance Ministry will offer the following rewards:Up to 100,000 baht or 30 per cent of the value of counterfeit money confiscated if the mastermind is also caught. Up to 100,000 baht or 30 per cent of the value of the counterfeit banknotes seized. Police officers cracking the case are also eligible for 25 per cent of these rewards. The reward will be paid in two lots, half when the prosecutor releases a prosecution order and another half when the court issues a guilty verdict.

Thailand legalises importation of cannabis and hemp seeds
The announcement stipulated that seeds of both plants can be imported from any country provided they meet the following criteria:- The seeds must not be genetically modified. - Importers must present lab evidence that they have been treated for or protected against pests, namely Pseudomonas syringae py cannabina, Xanthomonas campestris pv cannabis, Ditylenchus dipsaci, Arabis mosaic virus, Alfalfa mosaic virus, Orobanche ramosa, Cuscuta spp and Striga spp. - Importers must present a phytosanitary certificate for export or re-export issued by the National Plant Protection Organisation (NPPO) in the country of origin. Thailand legalised marijuana and hemp on June 9, allowing the former narcotics to be grown freely, but recreational use of the plants remains prohibited. Furthermore, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana or hemp products for sale must be lower than 0.2 per cent.

K-pop star BTS member Jin releases first solo single ahead of military duty

Govt to inject another B10bn into THAI
(Bangkok Post file photo)The Finance Ministry plans to inject 10 billion baht into Thai Airways International to keep its shareholding from dipping below 40%, according to the State Enterprise Policy Office (Sepo). The ministry will sell some of the shares it holds in other state enterprises to raise the necessary funds, said Pantip Sripimol, the Sepo director-general. No decision has been made yet as to which state enterprises will be targeted. The debt-ridden flag carrier submitted the revised plan following a better-than-expected recovery from the most financially trying period in its history. The plan requires the Finance Ministry to hold at least 40% of the shares in the carrier.

Prayut ends conflict between energy minister, PTT board chairman
It has been reported that Tossaporn was highly dissatisfied over Supattanapong’s alleged interference in the appointments of top executives of PTT’s subsidiaries. “The prime minister asked the two to work together and to not start a conflict again,” the source said. PTTEP continues to expand investment in UAE, acquires stakes in Sharjah Onshore Area A exploration block
Mr Montri Rawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), revealed that the company’s subsidiary, PTTEP MENA Limited, has signed a Farm-in Agreement to acquire 25% stake of the Sharjah Onshore Area A, an exploration block of the Sharjah Emirate from Eni Sharjah B.V., a subsidiary of Italy-based integrated Energy Company Eni. The process is expected to be completed within 2022 after fulfilling conditions in the agreement and obtaining government approvals. “PTTEP continues to expand our investment in our strategic focus area in the Middle East, with this Sharjah Onshore Area A being the fifth project in UAE since the company’s first entry into UAE in 2019. The investment reflects our strategic emphasis on natural gas resources and the growing partnership with Eni through which our strengths are combined to unlock new reserves,” said PTTEP’s CEO.

PTT unveils wide-ranging EV ecosystem plan to push for low-carbon society
The EV ecosystem would also promote people’s familiarity with EVs by renting electric vehicles of various brands via the EVme app. Currently, the app provides 200 EVs of Tesla Model 3 Long Range, MG EP and Nissan Leaf models for renting. Auttapol said PTT is also experimenting with the use of hydrogen by-product from a refinery to power electricity-generating turbines to reduce carbon emissions. He said PTT has also set up the PTT Group Net Zero Task Force, or G-Net, with representatives from six flagship companies of the group. The task force will help PTT achieve its carbon neutrality goal by 2040 and net zero emission by 2050, Auttapol said.
