Man City transfer stance on shock Real Madrid swoop in summer windowManchester City have been linked with a move for one of Liverpool's former defenders but will not be chasing a transfersView Image Trent Alexander-Arnold in Real Madrid training (Image: )Manchester City are not planning to offer Trent Alexander-Arnold a shock route back to the Premier League in summer. The Liverpool academy product moved to Real Madrid at the end of last season, burning some bridges on Anfield with the way he went about the move, but has not had a smooth start to life at the Bernabeu. Alexander-Arnold was seen as the player that could succeed the hugely popular right-back Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid in the long term, yet it has been a challenging first season. Those early troubles have led to claims that a summer move could be on the cards. Rayan Ait-Nouri was used there against Bodo/Glimt, and could be tried there again despite the defeat in Norway.

As an undergraduate reading law at Queens’ College, Cambridge, Ms Braverman became the chairwoman of the Cambridge University Conservative Association. Her first bid to become an MP ended in disappointment at the 2005 general election as she came second to Labour’s Keith Vaz in Leicester East. Further controversy was to follow as Ms Braverman unveiled a plan in April 2023 to house hundreds of asylum seekers in the Bibby Stockholm barge. A few days later, Ms Braverman was sacked in a reshuffle and returned to the backbenches. Ms Braverman opted not to stand for the Tory leadership following Rishi Sunak’s resignation, but she continued to court controversy.

US families are facing “impossible choices” as the Trump administration pushes to freeze federal funds for childcare and family assistance in five states over claims of potential fraud and misuse of taxpayer funds. Alice Dryden, a childcare worker in Chicago, Illinois, told the Guardian, freezing federal childcare funds would be a “disaster” for the families reliant on them. The allegations were debunked by media outlets which found no evidence of any of the childcare centers misusing federal funds. “It was horrifying,” said Lily Crooks, a childcare worker in Minneapolis, Minnesota. “Childcare is not a partisan issue.”Pam Frank, a childcare worker in Springfield, Illinois, noted there is already a shortage of childcare providers throughout the US, and workers in the industry are significantly underpaid.

TLDRGeorgia has introduced a bill proposing a statewide moratorium on new datacenters, driven by concerns over their energy and water consumption as they power the AI industry. The bill aims to halt all such projects until March of next year to allow local officials time to set necessary policies. This move comes as Georgia leads the nation in datacenter construction, with at least 10 municipalities already passing their own moratoriums. The concerns include rising electricity costs, water use, and lost tax revenue. The bill also has political implications, as it may influence the outcome of the upcoming elections for the Public Service Commission and the governor's office.
