The Israeli military said the brother of the man who drove a vehicle laden with explosives into a Michigan synagogue Thursday was a Hezbollah commander killed in a strike last week. IDF Arabic language spokesman Avichay Adraee said Ibrahim Ghazali was killed March 5 when the IDF struck a Hezbollah military building used to store weapons. Ibrahim Ghazali’s children were also killed in the strike, the mayor said. The IDF made no mention of Ayman Ghazali’s other brother, Kassim, who was also killed in the strike. Two weeks earlier in Austin, Texas, a shooter killed three people and injured more than a dozen others in the city’s bustling entertainment district.

Dangerous storm outbreak could slam D.C. area Monday; tornadoes possible
The fast-moving storms along the squall line and possible hurricane-force wind gusts could topple trees and power lines, leading to outages. It’s here that rotating, long-lived thunderstorms called supercells are more likely to develop ahead of the squall line, with the potential for stronger tornadoes. D.C. averages about a dozen severe storm outlooks per year from the Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center that are issued the day before potential storms. Most are marginal or slight risks (Levels 1-2 of 5), with a handful reaching enhanced risk (Level 3). Another notable case was during the June 1, 2012, tornado outbreak, when a 15 percent hatched tornado risk briefly covered a small portion of the Mid-Atlantic, including the D.C. area.

The administration of President Donald Trump has warned that news outlets could have their broadcasting licences revoked over critical reporting on the war against Iran, accusing the media of “distortions”. “The base was hit a few days ago, but the planes were not ‘struck’ or ‘destroyed’,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. Trump, however, has offered shifting rationales as to why he believes Iran posed an imminent threat to US security. He criticised the news outlet CNN, in particular, for a report asserting that the Trump administration had underestimated the chances of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz.
