Vietnam-Laos agreement on mutual judicial assistance in civil matters ratified
President Vo Van Thuong (Photo: VNA)- President Vo Van Thuong has signed a decision approving the Vietnam-Laos agreement on mutual judicial assistance in civil matters.The approval was made at the request of the Government on May 22.The ratified agreement is expected to help modernise the legal basis for mutual legal assistance cooperation in civil matters between authorised agencies of Vietnam and Laos , and at the same time, supplement regulations to improve the legal basis related to mutual legal assistance, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the fine relationship between the two countries.The approval of the agreement aims to realise the Party and State’s policy on strengthening international cooperation in legal and judicial fields, and perfect the legal mechanism for protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Vietnamese citizens and entities abroad, in line with the Resolution No. 27-NQ/TW dated November 9, 2022 adopted by the 13th Party Central Committee’s 6th meeting on continuing the building and improvement of the law-governed socialist State of Vietnam in the new period./.

For those of you of a certain age, you’ll know that Luton Town, nicknamed ‘The Hatters’ because of the town’s historical connection to the hat-making trade, played their football on an artificial pitch. Kenilworth Road, the stadium Luton call home, is unique to say the least. Luton Town Chief Executive Gary Sweet said this week: “This is real life, real football, history, tradition right here. Indonesia to annul visa of disrespectful tourists
(Photo:abc.net.au)Jakarta (VNA) - Authorities in Bali, Indonesia, will distribute a list of "dos and don'ts" for visitors arriving at the tourist island, and warn that they will cancel visas of disrespectful tourists. In a circular issued for government agencies on the tourist island, Governor Wayan Koster signed off on 12 "dos" and eight "don'ts" for international tourists. He highlighted that tourists entering certain holy sites for reasons other than praying, behaving disrespectfully at temples and going nude or wearing immodest clothing all make the "don't" list for tourists. According to him, tourists are being told to rent scooters and seek tour guide services from licensed operators. Government figures show about 13,000 to 15,000 tourists a day are arriving, down from the peak of 18,000 before COVID-19.

Vietnamese paintings auctioned for thousands of Euros

Le Pho, who lived from 1907 to 2001, was a prominent Vietnamese painter who developed a successful and prolific career in France with thousands of artworks to his credit. Le Pho’s “Nue”, known as “Nude” in English, fetched US$1.4 million and is the highest auction price ever for a Vietnamese painting. Mai Trung Thu, who lived from 1906 to 1980, known as Mai Thu, was born to a prominent northern family in Vietnam.

Exhibition in Hanoi to praise Hungary's national poet
