Vietnamese Australian scholars – a bridge for bilateral ties: congress
SYDNEY — The Vietnamese Australian Scholars and Experts Association (VASEA) has made important contributions to developing human resources as well as cooperation projects between the two nations, Vietnamese Deputy Ambassador to Australia Nghiêm Xuân Hòa said while attending the association’s first annual congress on June 2. Since its establishment in August 2023, VASEA has become a common house for scholars and specialists of the Vietnamese origin to exchange knowledge, expertise and experience, contributing to the development of the two countries as well as their bilateral ties. Various activities have been held by the association, including conferences and short courses on digital transformation, energy efficiency, carbon market, climate change, leadership skills for sustainable development, digital economy and energy transition. In his online speech, Australian Ambassador to Việt Nam Andrew Goledzinowski held that the Việt Nam – Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership should be endorsed not only by government agencies but also the private sector, universities, and organisations like VASEA. Linh qualified for Olympics after remarkable boxing performance

10th International Yoga Day celebrated in Ninh Thuan
NINH THUẬN - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the south-central province of Ninh Thuận in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in HCM City organised a programme to mark the 10th International Day of Yoga on June 2. Director of the department Nguyen Van Hoa said the event is a practical activity in celebration of the 10th International Day of Yoga themed "Yoga - Empowering Women", offering a good chance for members of yoga clubs and groups in and outside the locality to exchange and share experience, contributing to promoting the development of this sport. The yoga training movement has developed rapidly in Ninh Thuan in recent times with over 50 clubs being established, attracting thousands of practitioners. On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly, by consensus, declared June 21 to be celebrated as International Day of Yoga every year, showcasing the immense popularity of Yoga worldwide and the universal acknowledgement of its benefits. Since then, the Embassy of India has been organising International Yoga Day celebrations in Vietnam in close cooperation with local authorities and various socio-cultural organisations.

Việt Nam's industrial production surges in five months
The GSO said the IIP in the first five months soared 6.8 per cent year-on-year. Electricity production and distribution was up by 12.7 per cent and water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities by 6.3 per cent. According to the GSO, the IIP increased in 55 localities and dropped in eight during the reviewed period. Localities that saw a fall included Hà Tĩnh (9 per cent); Quảng Ngãi (8.2 per cent) and Cà Mau (2.5 per cent). Việt Nam's participation in numerous free trade agreements and its open economy made it susceptible to negative impacts from these risks.
