(Reuters) – Vladimir Petkovic has left his job as Switzerland coach to take over at Girondins de Bordeaux, the French Ligue 1 club and Swiss FA said on Tuesday. The 57-year-old Petkovic, who helped guide Switzerland to the quarter-final of the European Championship this month, has signed a three-year contract with the French club. “We are so proud to be able to recruit Vladimir,” club president Gerard Lopez said in a statement. “He has the perfect profile to join a long-term project with the club. “We are sad that Vladimir Petkovic is leaving us, but we are very grateful to Vlado for the extremely good and successful seven years he has given us as a national coach,” Swiss FA president Dominique Blanc said in a statement.

Egypt receives the first vehicle of the monorail train for the Nasr City – New Administrative Capital monorail line at the port of Alexandria, Lieutenant General Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, announced on Tuesday. CAIRO – 27 July 2021: The first round of the joint Higher Committee’s preparatory meetings at the expert and ministerial levels between Egypt and South Sudan were held on July 27, which is considered the first joint committee to take place since signing the establishment agreement in January 2012. This comes within the framework of strengthening joint economic relations between Egypt and South Sudan, and shows Egypt’s keenness to strengthen economic relations with countries of the African region. The Minister of International Cooperation Rania A. Al-Mashat chaired the coordination meeting at the ministerial level with the participation of several Egyptian and South Sudanese entities. Minister Al-Mashat referred to the Egyptian President’s visit to South Sudan in November 2020 and his directives to advance development efforts and joint relations between both countries. CAIRO – 27 July 2021: Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir announced Tuesday the arrival of the first monorail train – manufactured by Bombardier Inc. which was acquired by Alstom earlier this year - in the Port of Alexandria. That is within a deal to supply 70 trains, consisting of four cars each. That is because "the INNOVIA monorail 300 system is equipped with Bombardier’s proven CITYFLO 650 communications-based train control solution," as indicated on the website of Bombardier. The Giza section of the monorail is executed by a consortium encompassing Arab Contractors and Bombardier Inc. Bombardier Inc. is also part of a consortium with Orascom executing the Cairo section of the monorail.

The Qasr al-Nil Appeals Court upheld a fine of LE10,000 against a veterinarian charged with sexually harassing actress Zainab Gharib, star of the series “B 100 Wesh” series. Qasr al-Nil Prosecution had referred the suspect to trial before the Misdemeanors Court over accusations of stalking the actress. On June 4, 2014, a new law was passed which criminalizes sexual harassment for the first time in modern Egyptian history.
