Cabaña Las Lilas Head Chef was sent to an affiliate restaurant in Brazil to get proper training. Ready Your Eating PantsCabaña Las Lilas will only be serving its Feijoada on Saturdays from 12 PM to 5 PM until the end of August. The first: introducing pork cuts that will later integrate into the regular menu for the public. When we heard Cabaña Las Lilas, one of the highest rated steakhouses in the city began serving feijoada – Brazil’s national dish – on Saturdays, we knew we needed to find out what was going on. The Feijoada is offered in a buffet format which means you can eat to your heart or waistband’s content.

I made the hard call and went with The Sunshine Coast which can be broken down into three main areas:North Sunshine Coast – Includes Noosa and the HinterlandCentral Sunshine Coast – Is the region of MaroochySouth Sunshine Coast- is the area around CaloundraNuts for NoosaI stayed in Noosa Heads, a swanky little beach town with cool vibes and sunny vistas. It’s Actually Always SunnyThere is some debate about which Australian coast is better: the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast. Cute cafes, restaurants and designer boutiques wrap around the main street to Sunshine Beach — known for sucking in the Aussie elite. Flight time according to my captain is just about 13 hours with a quick stopover in Auckland and then another three-hour flight heading North to Brisbane — the Sunshine Coast baby! Sunshine beach is good for newbie surfers because the waves are somewhat calm and the beach is doesn’t tend to get too overcrowded.

Once it was clear no bills would be passed, the opposition compelled Cambiemos to at least agree to bring Aranguren in for questioning. Nevertheless, Aranguren will probably have to face some pretty rough questioning from the committees’ deputies next Tuesday. Sergio Massa’s Renewal Front (FR) was expected to approve a resolution compelling the Macri administration to backpedal on the price increases and officially bring Aranguren to the house floor to justify his decisions. With a full house, Cambiemos’s deputies numbered almost half the present members, making it impossible for the opposition to get its way. But this came at a political cost: To appease an upset opposition, the Cambiemos caucus — by caucus we mean a group of lawmakers who vote along the same lines — had to agree to have Energy Minister Juan José Aranguren appear before a special committee comprised of representatives from both chambers to justify the increases.

The fact that the Presidential Residence receives visits of a more personal nature allegedly makes the missing records all the more suspect (we’re not even going to go into the plethora of conspiracy theories surrounding Kirchner’s death). First and foremost, the fact that there are missing records regarding who visits a country’s first family is a little suspicious and perhaps a little eerie: like the missing 18.5-minute gap in the White House tapes under former President Richard Nixon. Local outlet Clarín published an article today stating that the records showing the comings and goings of visitors to the Olivos presidential residence are purportedly missing around the time of former President Néstor Kirchner’s death in October 2010 as well as other significant dates. As aforementioned, the existence of those records are a matter of public interest and transparency. Néstor died on October 27th in El Calafate (Santa Cruz Province) after having dinner with now infamous businessman Lázaro Báez.

The National Commission for Protection of Competition (CDNC) is ordering an investigation into 11 industries that it believes have developed unfair monopolies or that are using a dominant market position to take advantage of consumers. Well that might be because laundry detergent is just one market that the government believes might be in the clutches of a monopoly. Commerce Secretary Miguel Bran and the president of the National Commission for Protection of Competition Esteban Greco are targeting these markets due to their alleged lack of competition. The Ministry of Production just unveiled which industries will be examined and the list includes the following: laundry detergent, aluminum, steel, petrochemical, mobile communications, credit cards and electronic payments, oil, milk, meat, city ground transportation and air transport. Ever notice how no matter how much you despise the smell of your laundry detergent you just can’t seem to find one for a decent price that doesn’t make your clothes smell like they’ve been thrown around a flower patch and then dunked in Clorox?

(In 1986, the Mothers split into two factions over ideological differences; Hebe de Bonafini became the President of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association, which was separate from the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Founding Line). Today at 1 PM, the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association will make its 2000th rotation around the Pyramid within the Plaza de Mayo, a protest they’ve held every Thursday since the last military dictatorship in Argentina. Bonafini, one of the co-founders of the original Mothers of Plaza de Mayo and now the President of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association, came to the square to protest the arrest of her first son. As in 1977, the protests of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo are silent. Yet the founders of Mothers of Plaza de Mayo protested despite the danger.

The President of the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo, Estela de Carlotto, voiced her indignation regarding President Mauricio Macri’s comments on the number of people disappeared during the last military dictatorship in Argentina. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel has also shown his dislike for Macri’s statements, specifically the claim that he “does not know” the number. When the issue of the number of disappeared persons came up, Macri answered, “I don’t know [how many there were]. Read more: Macri Says He Doesn’t Know How Many People The Dictatorship DisappearedDuring the interview, Macri also called the military dictatorship the “Dirty War” — another detail that garnered a lot of criticism. According to figures released by the national Congress, inflation in the month of July rose by 2.4 percent for the country as a whole. The national statistics bureau (INDEC) is set to release its own index today. The lawmakers were making reference to the fact that the institute was considered untrustworthy beginning in 2007 when inflation statistics plunged overnight following the dismissal of several key authorities. Ever since then, INDEC was criticized for presenting less-than-accurate figures on inflation, poverty and the economy at large. This is the year with the highest numbers ever since the current inflationary process started in 2007,” states the report.

Thursday, August 11, 2016 Gas, electricity firms: we are losing moneyThe suspension of gas and electricity hikes across the country is leaving companies without sources of revenue, according to distributing firms. That decision is leaving firms in financial problems, executives argue, as neither subsidies nor users’ cash are coming in to pay for their costs. The reason, they argue, is that the courts’ resolutions took out 30 percent of its sales. The government agreed to a series of infrastructure investments with gas and electricity distributors following the hikes, as it argued that they had been left to decay during the previous years while rates remained low, in order to reduce costs. “Without an urgent re-adecuation of rates, we think assistence from the national government will be needed, (as otherwise) the investments that were agreed to will and that were launched could be seriously affected,” Córdoba’s gas distributor Ecogas said yesterday.

Thursday, August 11, 2016 Wrong case in the wrong handsIf in 2004 Néstor Kirchner appointed prosecutor Alberto Nisman as head of a special unit to clarify the 1994 AMIA Jewish community centre terrorist bombing, the passage of time has only increased the distance from any such clarification — after sending the investigation down the wrong track with the revival of Nisman’s complaint, the case is now falling into the wrong hands. Bonadio was removed from the case on these grounds in 2005 while five years later Nisman himself accused him of hampering the investigation. Yet Bonadio is the last of the available magistrates who should be handling this case. Since then, Palmaghini has managed the case almost all the time. All specific objections, quite apart from all the general doubts which might arise from Bonadio’s record.

But like charity (and perhaps only in that respect), capital markets begin at home. There also seems an insufficient appreciation as to just how large capital markets bulk in today’s world as opposed to what is still called the real economy. dollars) which could otherwise fuel the financial system as a whole. Thursday, August 11, 2016 Of capital importanceThese images of money being counted in La Rosadita financial house sparked a national scandal but this column argues that not enough money is counted in the Argentine economy. Argentina’s stunted financial system leaves it still stuck in the 20th century, holding the entire economy back, as Central Bank Governor Federico Sturzenegger keeps trying to tell people.
