It targeted Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as "West Jerusalem", referring to the area of the contested city that sits under full Israeli control. The broadcaster said the missile salvo also targeted "numerous US targets in Erbil" in Iraqi Kurdistan and the US Fifth Fleet naval base in Bahrain. The Middle East war that began with US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28 has provoked waves of retaliatory Iranian missile fire. New attacks were reported across the Gulf region early Wednesday, with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates reporting interceptions of missiles and drones.

TEHRAN, March 11, 2026 (BSS/AFP) - Iran's new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is "safe and sound" despite reports of an injury during the war with Israel and the United States, said the son of the Iranian president on Wednesday. "I heard news that Mr Mojtaba Khamenei had been injured. I have asked some friends who had connections. They told me that, thank God, he is safe and sound," said Yousef Pezeshkian, who is also a government adviser, in a post on his Telegram channel. State television had called Khamenei a "wounded veteran of the Ramadan war" but never specified his injury.

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase today recommended approval of several procurement proposals, including the purchase of refined rice bran oil. The committee reviewed two proposals from the Ministry of Commerce to procure refined rice bran oil through the Open Tender Method (National). Under the first proposal, the government will purchase 80 lakh litres of refined rice bran oil under four packages at a total cost of Tk 135.15 crore. The recommended suppliers include Majumder Bran Oil Mills Ltd., Green Oil & Poultry Feed Industry, Tamim Agro Industries Ltd., and Prodhan Oil Mills Ltd. Under another proposal, the committee reviewed the procurement of one crore litres of refined rice bran oil under five packages at a total estimated cost of Tk 170.41 crore.

File PhotoDHAKA, Mar 11, 2026 (BSS) - In a major step towards ensuring energy security in the country, the government today recommended a proposal for purchasing of three LNG cargoes from the international spot market for delivery in early April of 2026. According to the proposal, Total Energies Gas & Power Ltd., UK, will supply one cargo LNG at US$21.58 per MMBtu, while Posco International Corporation of South Korea will supply two cargoes LNG at US$ 20.76 per MMBtu each. The estimated costs for the LNG cargoes are Tk 907.84 crore, Tk 873.34 crore and Tk 873.34 crore respectively. The committee recommended approval of the LNG procurement proposals to ensure uninterrupted gas supply for power generation and industrial activities in the country. Officials said the government continues to procure LNG from the spot market to meet growing domestic demand and maintain stability in the national energy supply system.
