Letter: Looking forward to new Mass General Brigham comprehensive care site in Westborough
MetroWest Daily NewsIn our community, we have a real need for more high-quality primary care doctors and behavioral health specialists for adults and children. I am looking forward to the new Mass General Brigham comprehensive care site in Westborough which will offer both of those things. Additionally, the site plans to provide day surgery and over a dozen specialists. But for my family, just having the additional primary care providers for adults and kids will be most welcome as we just do not have sufficient providers in this region right now. I look forward to the new MGB Westborough ambulatory care facility opening soon.

Det tænker jeg på sidstedagen af OL, hvor vi skal svømme finalen i 4 x 100 meter medley. Alle fire skal svømme deres ypperste; hvis bare én af os har en dårlig dag, så er vi chanceløse. Der er bare så mange ting, der er så fucked up med det her. Det flyder, vi er som en organisme, og vi får bronze – en hundrededel af et sekund fra sølvmedaljen. Det er så latterligt, og det er en af de ting, jeg hader ved sporten.

Lebanese firefighters put out fire at fuel facility
BEIRUT (Reuters) -Firefighters put out a blaze that raged for several hours at a gasoline storage tank in southern Lebanon on Monday, the latest blow to a nation grappling with crippling economic and fuel crises. There were no reports of casualties in the fire at the Zahrani oil facility on the Mediterranean coast, which had sent a huge column of smoke into the sky. Energy minister Walid Fayad said the fire resulted from a “mistake” while gasoline was being transported from one storage tank to another, the National News Agency (NNA) reported. The army had diverted traffic away from the facility in a sparsely-populated area, the security source said. Lebanese have had to increasingly rely on private generators for power, with expensive fuel oil bills, as the state electricity company provided a few if any hours of service a day to their districts.

Stellar mining rally helps European stocks recoup losses

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. shares fell on Monday, having whip-sawed between gains and losses as soaring oil prices that hit multi-year peaks stoked fears about rising prices and tighter monetary policy, lifting the dollar to a near-three-year high against the yen. A rally in basic material and energy shares on higher oil prices initially lifted major U.S. stock indices. “We are gaining confidence in a sharper deceleration but the timing is more uncertain.”The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.72%, the S&P 500 fell 0.69%, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.64%. Oil prices, which had jumped on Monday on rebounding demand and cutbacks in supply, gave up some of their early gains but still ended the session higher. That helped basic materials and energy stocks in the S&P 500.

Med sit kommende boligudspil vil regeringen især i hovedstadsområdet skabe fundamentet for tusindvis af nye almene boliger. Som statsminister Mette Frederiksen sagde i sin tale ved Folketingets åbning, vil regeringen gøre det muligt at opføre 22.000 ekstra almene boliger over de næste 10-15 år til en husleje på omkring 8.000 kroner. »Der vil fonden træde i kraft og være med til at sikre, at man alligevel kan bygge det«, siger Kaare Dybvad Bek.

Oil settles up 1.5%; hits multi-year highs on surging demand
BENGALURU (Reuters) – Oil prices jumped on Monday to the highest levels in years, fuelled by rebounding global demand that has contributed to power and gas shortages in key economies like China. Power prices have surged to record highs in recent weeks, driven by widespread energy shortages in Asia, Europe and the United States. Soaring natural gas prices have encouraged power generators to switch to oil. The Chinese government ordered miners to ramp up coal production as power prices surged. New Zealand makes COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for health workers
(Reuters) -New Zealand will require teachers and workers in the health and disability sectors to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Monday, as she extended restrictions in Auckland, its largest city, for another week. “New Zealand is at one of the trickiest and most challenging moments in the COVID-19 pandemic so far,” Ardern told reporters in Wellington. About 2.38 million New Zealanders have so far been fully vaccinated, or about 57% of the eligible population, with officials promising to end lockdowns once 90% of the eligible population is vaccinated. Health and disability sector workers will have to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 1, while school and early learning staff must get their two doses by Jan. 1, COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said. Having largely controlled the virus last year, New Zealand has recorded just over 4,600 cases and 28 deaths.

China’s Ant Group increases registered capital by 47% to $5.4 billion
BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s Ant Group has raised its registered capital to 35 billion yuan ($5.44 billion) from 23.8 billion yuan, public business registration records showed, as the fintech giant continues its government-mandated restructuring. Ant, an affiliate of e-commerce leader Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, in a Monday statement said the increase was to support growth and was “according to relevant regulations and business needs.”Authorities in April ordered sweeping restructuring at Ant after halting the financial technology (fintech) firm’s record $37 billion initial public offering in November, underscoring government determination to rein in its internet giants. The overhaul subjects Ant to tougher regulatory oversight and capital requirements. Ant said the 47% jump in registered capital comes from “capitalisation of the company’s capital reserve.” It said it had not engaged in any fundraising activity and that no additional investors were involved. Corporate business travel ‘carbon budgets’ loom for airlines
SYDNEY/BOSTON (Reuters) -As major companies look at drastic ways to cut carbon emissions from corporate travel, airlines are bracing for a major hit to business-class travel, a key revenue driver, industry executives and experts say. Several companies, such as HSBC, Zurich Insurance, Bain & Company and S&P Global, have already announced plans to quickly cut business travel emissions by as much as 70%. Flights account for about 90% of business travel emissions. Hamilton started 11th on the grid, due to an engine penalty, and was third when he made a late pitstop, losing two places. From being two points clear of Verstappen in the championship he is now six behind. Ricciardo started at the back of the grid due to an engine change penalty and struggled with the tyres. Tsunoda wore down his tyres battling Hamilton early on and then spun, dropping out of the points.
