That’s how many frames the Framingham State University baseball team played on Saturday. Two teams were formed – Team Ryan (in white) and Team Panza (in black) – with batters from each squad allocated one hack per at-bat. Team Panza put together 69 hits while Team Ryan registered 65 – none of which resulted in a home run. What the Framingham State University baseball team did on Saturday was play 100 innings in less than four hours. “I think it will stick for years to come.”(To help donate to the Framingham State University baseball team, click here and select baseball fund under athletics.)

Peter Tuz, president of Chase Investment Counsel in Charlottesville, Virginia, said the day’s rally in stocks was nothing more than a rebound after a weak stretch. European stocks closed up 1.17% as rising bank shares and encouraging results from chipmaker Infineon calmed nerves following a tech-fueled sell-off on Wall Street on Monday. European bank stocks rose 3.5% to more than a 1-1/2 year high. Brent crude rose $1.30 to settle at $82.56 a barrel. Gold prices fell as firmer U.S. Treasury yields and a stronger dollar dented the safe-haven metal’s appeal.

LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s post-lockdown economic recovery avoided losing further momentum in September but companies increased prices at the fastest pace on record, adding to signs of rising inflation, a survey showed on Tuesday. The final reading of the IHS Markit/CIPS composite Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which combines Britain’s services and manufacturing sectors, edged up to 54.9 from 54.8 in August, the first time it did not fall since May. Some companies said the scheduled end on Sept. 30 of a tax break for home-buyers contributed to the slowdown in new orders. Companies raised the prices they charged at the fastest pace since the composite index was launched in 1999. The Bank of England is watching closely for any signs that the recent rise in inflation might prove longer-lasting than it has predicted.

An Australian gay man has pleaded guilty to committing health insurance fraud, but claims he started the scheme in order fund his “high-end” lifestyle on the gay scene. He then used the false claims to buy cocaine, MDMA, new clothes, and to go out to gay nightclubs. Antojado skipped parole in South Australia and moved to Melbourne, where he learned of a loophole in AHM Health Insurance’s claims system, in which receipts were not required when seeking claims for health care services. By creating false identities, paying the minimum premium for an account, and submitting false claims, Antojado was able to obtain $120,901 AUD, or $88,050 USD. He was arrested on unrelated charges in 2019, which led to a search warrant that uncovered the insurance fraud, with Antojado being charged in December of that year.

HB 4838, for example, would prohibit electronic poll books and tabulators from being connected to the internet after the polls open. “She is the governor wherever she is from her desk in Lansing to a dinner at the NAACP. She is still Big Gretch and has the pen to prove it!”Republicans criticized Whitmer, saying she’s turning her back on election security.“It’s clear Gretchen Whitmer isn’t interested in protecting democracy,” Gustavo Portela, spokesman for the Michigan GOP, said.

MADRID (Reuters) -A Spanish administrative court has ordered tax authorities to reimburse Colombian singer Shakira, court officials and lawyers said on Monday, while a separate criminal lawsuit she faces over a 14.5 million euros ($16.8 million) tax dispute continues. Shakira’s legal team did not specify how much money she would get back, however, or when the decision was made. Court officials in Barcelona, where Shakira lives and where she faces the criminal tax fraud case, said that the administrative court decision was unrelated to the criminal lawsuit. The singer’s legal team said in a statement: “This shows that, more often than it might seem, the courts are opposing tax authorities’ criteria, even annulling incorrectly ordered tax payments.”A judge recommended in July that Shakira face trial over allegations that she failed to pay 14.5 million euros in taxes on income earned between 2012 and 2014. Foot traffic like dogs and hikers scare away the deer — and McArthur said the difference in deer eating, called "browsing," is noticeable. Healthy forests and your backyard“When the density of deer is higher than 20 per square mile, you see the impacts to the forest,” Huckery said. You should be able to see skinny oaks everywhere.”The damage that deer do isn’t exclusive to forests, though. “Deer love arborvitae,” Huckery said, explaining that deer will eat from the bottom and then as high up as they can reach. When there are too many deer, Huckery said vehicle accidents can become more frequent, browsing can irreparably damage the health of forests and harsh winters can result in starving animals.
