In comments to “Good Morning Egypt,” talk show, Taj El-Din said that the state is still vaccinating children, whether Egyptians or those coming from abroad. Egypt has launched numerous polio vaccination campaigns to inclue Egyptian and non-Egyptian children with the aim of keeping the country free from the disease. Egypt has not recorded any polio case since 2004, according to officials.

Salah 'devastated' as Liverpool miss Champions League spot

Egypt hosts 9 million refugees and migrants: FM

Egyptian wrestler Bagdouda gains free scholarship at National Training Academy
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi instructed granting Egyptian wrestler Ahmed Fouad Bagdouda who fled to France a training scholarship at the National Training Academy, media outlets reported. The Egyptian Wrestling Federation announced earlier this week that Bagdouda had disappeared, while participating in the African Championship held in Tunisia from May 15-21. The young Egyptian wrestler won second place in the 63 kg category, as part of preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Measures have been taken against Egyptian wrestler Bagdouda, who traveled to France, without a permission from the Egyptian Wrestling Federation, Mahmoud al-Sayed, Secretary General of the Egyptian Wrestling Federation, confirmed, earlier in a statement. According to Sayed, Bagdouda left his bag in his hotel room and turned off his phone before the Egyptian mission participating in the tournament discovered his absence.

Edita to complete acquisition of frozen bakery company next week
Sources revealed to Daily News Egypt that Edita Food Industries will complete its acquisition of a food company, specialized in making frozen baked goods, next week. The sources added that Edita is in the process of signing the final agreement to acquire 100% of the company’s shares at a value of EGP 380m, refusing to disclose the company’s name until the final signing in the middle of next week. Edita Food Industries achieved a consolidated net profit of EGP 1.02bn during the fiscal year ending last December, compared to EGP 528.9m in 2021, a growth of 92.9%. Sales jumped by 46.1% to reach EGP 7.6bn during the period from January to December 2022, compared to EGP 5.25bn in the comparative period. Gross profit rose during the same period to EGP 2.6bn compared to EGP 1.69bn in the same period in 2021.
