Exactly how the Pyramids of Giza were built was an archaeological mystery, as it seemed so miraculous that theories about extraterrestrials have been ingrained in people's minds and the reason is that the stones of the Pyramid weigh at least two tons. The researchers studied five sediment samples extracted from the Giza Flood Plain in 2019 to analyze "patterns of pollen-derived vegetation" and "reconstruct 8,000-year-old riverine history of the Nile in this area." By combining this work with previous studies in the rock layers around the Pyramids, archaeologists have concluded that there was a tributary from the Nile River that reached the Pyramids with a high water level during the reigns of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure. "When I read about it, I was very interested because this confirms that the materials for the Pyramid's construction were transported over water," Shisha told The Times. The land dried up completely, leaving behind a mystery that may now be closer to being solved.

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA (Reuters) - A late goal from winger Hirving Lozano secured a 1-0 win for World Cup-bound Mexico over Peru in an international friendly at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Saturday. In a game of few chances, Lozano, who plays for Napoli in Serie A, broke the deadlock in the 85th minute with a fine left-footed finish at the far post following a corner. Peru, who missed out on the World Cup after losing to Australia on penalties in an inter-continental playoff in June, were unable to threaten in attacking areas, failing to register a single shot on target. Mexico will take on Colombia in another friendly in California on Tuesday. They play at the Nov. 20-Dec. 18 World Cup in Qatar in Group C against Argentina, Saudi Arabia and Poland.

(Reuters) - World Cup semi-finalists in 2018, European Championship runners-up last year, England were surfing a wave of optimism, but the wheels have come off spectacularly and they now look anything but potential winners in Qatar. Manager Gareth Southgate had a relatively settled side during the Euros, when England posed threats from all over the pitch and were solid at the back. His chopped and changed midfield failed miserably to get hold of the game - despite Declan Rice's faintly bizarre claim that England had controlled it. Jude Bellingham, still only 19 despite all his experience for Borussia Dortmund, probably did as much as anyone to enhance his World Cup prospects while Kane remains a world-class threat if he can stay fit and Reece James remains ever-reliable. The good news for him is that England have landed a relatively soft World Cup group and with the fixtures in the order he would have wanted.
