Farah highlighted China’s status as a solid economic partner in the development of Ethiopia during his talk with the director of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Liu Jianchao, on the sidelines of the “World Majority for Multipolar Order” forum meeting in Russia, Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported. The Ethiopian authority said that many Chinese companies are actively involved in various Ethiopian sectors and welcomed the CPC’s support in Ethiopia’s quest to become a member of the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arabs Emirates, Iran and recently Ethiopia). He also expressed interest in strengthening ties between parties, exchange of experiences, training programs, and capacity development initiatives. Regarding bilateral relations in terms of trade and investment, the Chinese official cited the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway line built in collaboration with the Belt and Road Initiative, as an illustrative example of joint efforts. Undocumented Ethiopian migrants ordered out of Somalia's PuntlandGAROWE, Somalia - Several undocumented Ethiopian migrants have been ordered out of Garowe, the regional administrative capital of Puntland, with the directive geared towards realigning the city's priorities for national security defense and protection. Abdikhadir Mohamed Mohamud Geddi, the mayor of Garowe, said all illegal migrants within the city ought to leave with immediate effect or face the law. There are many Ethiopians in Garowe who take part in business and other community transformation activities. "I want to send a message to the Ethiopian people who are in the city illegally. Maun is the most profitable airport in Botswana- LesasoMaun Airport is leading other airports in the country in terms of financial profit, Deputy Minister of Education and Skills Development, Aubrey Lesaso has said. Other international airports in the country include Sir Seretse Khama International (SSKI) Airport in Gaborone, PG Matante International Airport in the second city; Francistown and Kasane international Airport in the country’s tourism hub, Kasane. Lesaso further noted that Botswana skies remain one of the safest as the country’s compliance rating is above the world average of 80.1 percent with Maun and SKKI international Airports having been certified among the four international airports. With its pristine landscapes, abundant wildlife and rich cultural heritage.”Mthimkhulu further stated that his Ministry through Botswana Tourism Organisation has partnered with Ethiopian Airlines on a promotion campaign that will propel awareness about travels between Addis Ababa and Maun. First scheduled flight into Maun was in 1937 and Botswana Aviation Research indicates that by 1937 Airfields were already established at Francistown, Maun, Palapye, Gaborone and Gantsi and by1950 Francistown-Maun Air Service was allowed on a fortnightly frequency.

Liege Airport has reported growth in aircraft movements and cargo tonnage since the start of the year, with May 2024 continuing this positive trend. For May 2024, the airport recorded an 11.3% increase in cargo aircraft movements compared to May 2023, rising from 2,026 to 2,256. Cargo tonnage saw a 13.4% increase, with 95,905 tonnes handled compared to 84,582 tonnes in May 2023. Liege Airport, however, reported a 33% increase for April 2024 compared to April 2019, and an average growth of 28% for the first five months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019. Tens of thousands of Muslim minority Rohingya are feared to be caught in fighting in western Myanmar, as a powerful armed ethnic group bears down on junta positions in a coastal town on the country's border with Bangladesh. Around 70,000 Rohingya who are in Maungdaw are trapped as the fighting draws closer, said Aung Kyaw Moe, the deputy human rights minister in Myanmar's shadow National Unity Government. The bazaar’s tenants – five restaurants and one boutique – would have the opportunity to take over the lease and share ownership. Downtown Bazaar, at former EXPO space, opens Monday Downtown Bazaar will open to the public Monday, bringing international all-stars from the West Side Bazaar to Buffalo’s Theatre District. The Downtown Bazaar opened in April 2023, followed by the new West Side Bazaar facility six months later.
