Metro Mass Transit Workers Adamant About Resuming Work
Workers at the Kumasi Depot of Metro Mass Transit (MMT), say until the Chief Executive Officer, his two Deputies and other management members are dismissed, they will not resume work. The workers accuse the CEO and his management of not only mismanaging the transport company but also compromising on the welfare of the staff, including life after compulsory retirement. Staff of the Kumasi depot of the Metro Mass Transit Company began a sit down strike on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, as a means of making known to the public issues affecting their welfare and sustainability of the transport company. Information available indicates that there are technical problems such as the lack of Engine Oil or Fan Belt to power the engines. Ken Ofori-Atta Meets UK Counterpart Kwasi Kwarteng In US
Ken Ofori-Atta, Ghana's Finance Minister is in the United States of America, USA, attending the Group of Seven (G7) meeting with Finance Ministers from some African countries which is part of the IMF and World Bank Annual meetings. Ofori-Atta described the meeting as "quite historic because for the first time, the G7 has called African Finance Ministers to deliberate on the crisis that they see. In some of the photos circulating on social media, Ofori-Atta is seen sitting next to Kwarteng and having a tête-à-tête. Kwasi Kwarteng's appointment made him the first Black to ascend to such a position regarded as only second to the Prime Minister’s office in UK political circles. This group invited finance ministers from South Africa, Senegal, Togo, Zambia, Ghana, Guinea, Rwanda, Chad, Tunisia and Morocco for the all-important meeting.

Nkrabeah Effah Dartey has revealed that he used to be the legal representative for Nana Agradaa, the embattled evangelist currently in police custody. The lawyer explained that he took the decision to quit working for Agradaa, real name Patricia Oduro Koranteng, after having represented her for weeks. “Agradaa, I beg you, she took me as her lawyer for a few weeks,” he told Kofi Adoma of Kofi TV fame. More precisely, Ghanaian Man- aided and abetted by Chinese nationals (both men and women). Nevertheless, despite galamsey being so obviously a ONE HUNDRED PERCENT DISASTER, someGhanaians see, her, nor speak evil of it. And to take the cake, who would have thought it possible that this Chinese national would have the effrontery to re-enter Ghana (assuming she had in fact ever left!) The body of the story is far worse though, with its incendiary opening line, claiming, "Chinese nationals have taken over Non-citizen National Identity card".

Evangelist Patricia Oduro Koranteng was put before the court on charges of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement in the media. According to Angel FM’s court correspondent, Ama Brako Ampofo, the suspect took exception when the prosecutor mentioned her name while reading out her charges in court. “When she was brought in, her name was mentioned as Patricia Oduro but when she entered the box, she objected that she is not Patricia Oduro Asiedu but her name is Reverend Doctor Patricia Oduro,” the correspondent narrated. The court which denied her bail has scheduled her reappearance for Thursday, October 13, 2022. Workers to be laid off at Local Government Service
General News of Monday, 10 October 2022Source: www.ghanaweb.comAdministrative Officers in the Local Government Service are likely to lose their jobs in the coming days, Head of the Local Government Service, Dr. Nana Ato Arthur has disclosed. According to him, the Service is taking steps to undertake an exercise to lay off some Administrative Officers because the sector is bloated and the number of Administrative officers in the various Assemblies has resulted in ‘poor quality service delivery’ within the sector, the Chronicle reports. Dr. Ato Arthur disclosed this in a speech read on his behalf at the third National Conference of Ghana National Association of Local Govt Service Administrators (GALGA) at Tamale in the Northern Region recently. According to him, the Administrative Officers cannot be blamed for over employment considering they have no hand in the employment of Local Government Service workers and therefore should not bear the brunt. Mr. Asare Bediako further suggested that training workshops are rather organized for Administrative Officers to ensure productivity and enhancement of their skillset.
