Two teenagers drown in Newmont Ahafo storage dam

The Water Storage Facility is a dam created by the company to store freshwater needed for the mine’s operation. The dam is a protected zone with warning signs to discourage unapproved entry and a company security team patrolling the facility.

Hardly had it become public knowledge, killing people like falling houseflies sprayed with lethal insecticide, the Chinese started producing face masks, Covid-19 test kits, etc. For the many souls lost, many jobs lost, many companies collapsed with international travellers being charged exorbitant but unnecessary Covid-19 “fit-to-fly” PCR test fees, it is simply right for curses to be invoked upon the originators of Covid-19 virus, whatever their motive is. Uneasy lies the face that wears the face mask for preventing Covid-19 infection.

Shipping lines must abide by regulations LI 2190 – Freight Forwarders

The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) Regulations 2012 (L.I. Mr Mantey was speaking to the media on issues of unfair treatment raised by freight forwarders, importers, and exporters against the shipping lines. He said while the various institutions within Ghana’s shipping industry avail their tariffs for vetting and regulating by the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, the shipping lines on the other hand did not adhere to the regulations. He also raised concern on the failure of the shipping lines to apply the standard Bank of Ghana’s exchange rates for business as compared to other players in the clearance chain.

Air pollution killing many Ghanaians, affecting infants and elderly - Report
Also, the air pollution mortality rate including the Ambient (outdoor) air pollution and the household (indoor/near home) air pollution is 105 people per 100,000 of the population, with an approximate 66 per cent of related deaths in rural Ghana due to household or near-home air pollution. Mr Amoasah was making a presentation on the Environment, Health and Economic Impact of Ambient and Household Air Pollution in Ghana. The WHO, has also estimated annual mortality from air pollution to be more than 28,000 of the population, Mr Amoasah said. He said unfortunately, the air pollution disease burden was disproportionately borne by infants and the elderly. He said the programme had improved the air quality monitoring activity of the EPA, especially within the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area, and could now employ new measurement methods for air quality monitoring and analysis.

PPP demands constitutional amendment before 2024 general election

Samia Nkrumah builds classroom block in honour of her father
Handing over the classroom block to the management of the school, Ms Yaba Nkrumah who became the MP for the area from 2013 to 2017, said she built and commissioned the classroom block as part of the centenary celebrations of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Ms Yaaba Nkrumah thanked the Chiefs, staff and residents of the community for supporting the construction and completing the project on time. The Headmistress of Tikobo Number Two Catholic Basic School, Mrs. Felicia Archer thanked Ms Yaaba Nkrumah for the kind gesture. Nana Avo-Nwiah V, the Chief of Tikobo Number Two, thanked Ms Yaaba Nkrumah for supporting the school with such a beautiful classroom block. New research shows that most Ghana youth prefer to set up their own businesses
