England began brightly and Curtis Jones saw a shot blocked after Caoimhin Kelleher stopped Noni Madueke’s threat with his feet. Carsley had the control he craved but lacked any cutting edge, epitomised by Madueke making space only to shoot into a crowd from close range as his penalty appeals for handball were ignored. Lambrechts pointed to the spot and dished out a second yellow card to the defender, with Kane scoring after a stuttering run-up to his 53rd minute spot-kick. Harwood-Bellis had a first touch to remember, staying up after a set piece and brilliantly guiding home a Bellingham cross from close range, wheeling off in celebration after the 79th-minute goal. Bellingham saw a shot blocked and Kane was denied as England sought a sixth, with Bowen proving a handful before the final whistle.

Driven by nostalgia and a desire to revive a piece of Glasgow's history, Pomeroy acquired the rights to the Clyde Model Dockyard name, embarking on an ambitious mission to re-establish the brand as a manufacturer of high quality model kits. Pomeroy hopes to one day revive the business as a bricks and mortar, city-centre store, fully restoring the Clyde Model Dockyard as a proud fixture of its original home in the Argyll Arcade. “Anyone who knows about the history of Glasgow will be familiar with the Clyde Model Dockyard,” he said. CEO Lynzi Leroy said: “The Clyde Model Dockyard is just the sort of business we were created to support and nurture. The model dockyard has returned (Image: Clyde Model Dockyard)He returned to Scotland earlier this year, after researching the history of the Clyde Model Dockyard and learning that, while the name had been revived in 2001, it had remained as a dormant company since then.

I came with Belgian expectations, but I soon learnt the Irish system was full of surprises. In fact some features of Irish politics really surprised me. You would imagine that, since the campaign is so short and abrupt, the party system would be straightforward and easy to make sense of. That there even exists an Irish party of Independents strikes me as quite absurd. Maybe Belgian politics would be better off with a less ideologically divided political landscape.
