Dr. Patrick L.N. I have just read about the passing of legendary educator and professor Dr. Patrick L. N. Seyon. Dr. Patrick L. N. Seyon was more than a teacher and an administrator; he inspired a generation and a nation. For Dr. Seyon, excellence is never adulterated or dampened by environing circumstances. It was these values that led Dr. Seyon to boot out more than 600 students who had illegally entered the university.

The Pathologists you are talking about here are paid by government – they work for government…It’s a kangaroo process,” he said. Asked whether the government accorded them the opportunity to select an independent pathologist that they believe would be transparent with the outcome of the autopsy, he responded:“We were coerced by the government through the Ministry of Justice – because we asked for an independent pathologist – they told us that the government cannot provide any independent pathologist. We don’t trust the system because of the manner in which they’re proceeding clearly states that this entire process has been compromised,” Mr. Lama said. “We were coerced by the government through the Ministry of Justice – because we asked for an independent pathologist – they told us that the government cannot provide any independent pathologist. Monrovia – Quality of teaching is a major factor influencing whether or not parents send children to school, a new study on Liberian education finds. The study found that, when judging who is a good teacher, perceptions of teacher knowledge and practices are more influential than certifications or experience. The report also found that the perceived social status of the teaching profession in Liberia is low. Many Liberians see teaching at a private school as an acceptable status profession but see teaching at a public school as a low status profession. By understanding Liberian perceptions, IREX seeks to advance the organization’s understanding of the challenges hindering the transformation of the Liberian education system and begin to center local solutions around this knowledge.

After seven months of being in Ghana and briefly in Liberia, I returned to NYC for a short visit. As I observe these and many more changes in the great city, my mind went back to the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible, specifically chapter 1 verse 2-3: “Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity. In my nation Liberia, I am reminded of the farm in Totota- the farm was owned by the late President Tubman. Everyone in his inner circle bought a house or land in that community as it was the seat of power. Today, in our nation Liberia, many would do whatever it takes to gain wealth.

US-based Auditor Calls on US Secretary of State to Grant President Weah’s Request In Aiding Investigation of Liberian Auditors’ Mysterious DeathsThe IAA boss Richard F. Chambers noted if the deaths of these of the professional Liberians were deliberately orchestrated by some sinister motives, it would be an attack on the Liberian people and democracy. Their deaths continue to spark public outrage, prompting President Weah to call for the assistance of the United States Government to help with ongoing investigation to uncover the true nature of their demises. Supporting President Weah’s request, Mr. While evidence of any wrongdoing in the recent deaths of the four auditors so far appears inconclusive, Mr. Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, speaking from her recovery bed from Ghana, called for a speedy investigation in the ominous deaths of the auditors.
