Information coming out of the southeastern County says supporters of the opposition Unity Party (UP) who were rejoicing followed the National Elections Commission (NEC) declaration that the Standard Bearer, Joseph N. Boakai has won the November 14 runoff election, his supporters, particularly Nimba citizens in that part of the have reportedly been banned by authority of the county from farmingAccording to report from the county, authority in the county is said to angry over the news that their son, President George Weah has conceded defeat, giving the presidency to the UP,The report further indicated that citizens ,particularly weayean town, for the past five days since the pronouncement by NEC, all UP partisans in that town decided to do a traditional dance putting white chalk on their faces and wearing the bumpers over their clothes to celebrate, in the process the town people got angry and imposed sanctions on all Nimbaians who are residing in the town, not to go in the bush for any farming , hunting, or gold mining activities. The party emphasized its commitment to supporting the ongoing investigation and urged the public to remain calm during this challenging time. The government took particular note of a Unity Party statement, which appears to have drawn a conclusion, by terming the incident as “domestic terrorism” while at the same time urging the police to “investigate the cause” of the incident.

Developing Next Generation Of Taekwondo Stars
He emphasized that since the establishment of the Taekwondo School on Bushrod Island, he has been collaborating with the Liberia Taekwondo Federation to develop Liberia’s next Taekwondo stars. Master Jallah explained that his Taekwondo institution currently has 30 kids undergoing intensive training, aiming to develop their skills. “I always encourage my athletes not to be rude or violent against their friends or parents because they are undergoing taekwondo training. Another boy named Samuel King, along with several other athletes from my institute, are now on the national taekwondo team of Liberia. I hope to produce more athletes not only for my institute but also for the national taekwondo team of Liberia,” he narrated.

More than 1,000 Rohingya refugees have arrived in Indonesia this month
Jakarta, (EFE).- A ship carrying about 200 Rohingya that made landfall in Aceh, the westernmost province of Indonesia, has brought the number of these refugees arriving to the country to more than 1,000 this month, the NGO Kontras reported Wednesday. According to the organization, which works in Aceh to welcome and assist refugees who arrive on its beaches, 219 people arrived late Tuesday night on the island of Sabang, including 56 children. With this case, the number of Rohingya – a Muslim minority persecuted in Myanmar – who arrived in the last week on the northern coast of Indonesia already amounts to 1,084 people, of which 465 are children. The institution also said at least 348 individuals died or disappeared on these voyages last year. The brutal operation the Myanmar army launched in August 2017 against the Rohingya population in the north of Rakhine state led to the exodus of more than 720,000 refugees to neighboring Bangladesh and brought Myanmar an accusation of genocide before the Court International Justice in The Hague.

Liberia: President Weah Issues Executive Order 123 Setting Up Transitional Team
President George Weah has issued Executive Order 123, setting up a Joint Presidential Transitional Team (JPTT) to ensure a smooth transfer of power from the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change government, which he heads, to the newly elected administration. The President, who and President-Elect co-chair, the Joint Presidential Transition Team, has already appointed members of his government to the team. Other members of the Secretariat are the Economic Advisor to the President and the Legal Advisor to the President. The Director-General of the Cabinet shall second other support staff from within the Executive Branch of Government as may be required to expedite the timely work of the JPTT, the Executive Order also states. The Incumbent President and the President-Elect shall be Co-Chairpersons to the JPTT.

Deputy Speaker Fonati Koffa Declares Intention to Contest as House’s Speaker

Liberia: 2 Killed in Vehicle Attack on Crowd at UP Headquarters
Several persons are reported dead and another many more injured after an unidentified vehicle came from the direction of Snapper Hill, Broad Street with heavy speed and ran through a crowd assembled in front of the Unity Party headquarters. According to eyewitnesses, as the crowd were singing and dancing in the street in front of UP headquarters, the vehicle, identified as a silver/gray Hyundai, approached with headlights on. When the driver saw that people were coming toward the vehicle, the driver pulled off again with speed. However, when they saw that the vehicle stopped midway down the hill, near the B.W. The suspect, identified as Lawrence K. Williams, 31, allegedly drove the vehicle through the crowd celebrating at the Unity Party headquarters on Broad Street on Monday, Nov 21, 2023.

25-Year-Old Nigerian School Teacher Shot Dead In Atlanta, US
25-year-old Nigerian man, Jason Ogbomoh, has been shot and killed in downtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. Jason was shot several times by a yet to be identified shooter on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Atlanta police said at 3:04 a.m. on Sunday, officers received reports of a person shot on Peachtree Street Southwest. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times. School officials said counseling and district support will be provided for students and administration to support students and staff.

Israel & Hamas reach tentative, US-backed deal to pause hostilities & free hostages in Gaza
The Washington Post reported that Israel, Hamas and the United States of America have “agreed to a tentative deal that would free dozens of women and children held hostage in Gaza, in exchange for a five-day pause in fighting”. This was detailed in a six-page agreement among Israel, the US and Hamas during talks in Doha, Qatar. During this, The Washington Post said that there would be an “overhead surveillance” watching over movement on the ground. According to multiple news sites, Hamas abducted about 240 people during the terror attacks on Oct. 7, who were then held in Gaza. Three women, girl killed in US shooting spree
TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – The shootings at three locations in Memphis left three women and a teenage girl dead and critically wounded another teen girl, media outlets reported. Police found Mavis Christian Jr, 52, in his car during a manhunt following the shootings at three locations in Memphis that left three women and a teenage girl dead and critically wounded another teen girl. Memphis Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting on Saturday at 9.22 pm on the 100 Block of Howard Drive. At Field Lark Drive, a woman and a 13-year-old girl were killed and a 15-year-old girl was critically wounded. Police believed Christian was responsible for all three shootings and began a search involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
