‘PPP may not accept ministries in new cabinet’
PPP Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said he did not think his patty would accept any ministries in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet, which is yet to be formed since the new premier was sworn in on April 11. Similarly, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, convener of another coalition partner MQM-P, said he was more interested in serving the people than cabinet portfolios. Sources said the PPP was more interested in constitutional offices than ministries. PM Shehbaz has been insisting that the PPP should join his cabinet. However, the PPP, the second biggest party in the ruling coalition, told him that it was more interested in supporting him while staying out of the cabinet.

Pakistan, KSA vow to work together to cement ties
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone calls from Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Prince Mohammad Bin Salman warmly congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the prime minister of Pakistan. The prime minister thanked the Crown Prince for the felicitations and expressed his resolve to work closely with the Kingdom to enhance and further strengthen bilateral relations between their two countries. The Saudi crown prince extended his cordial invitation to the prime minister to pay an official visit to the Kingdom, at an early date. Thanking the crown prince for his gracious invitation, the prime minister also extended an invitation to the crown prince to undertake a state visit to Pakistan.

Four consecutive ties wins help Pakistan finish 9th in Jr Davis Cup
Lahore – Pakistan junior team finished ninth in the Junior Davis Cup that concluded in New Delhi, India, thanks to young Pakistan lads for their last four consecutive ties victories in the mega event. According to Pakistan captain Rashid Malik (Tamgh-e-Imtiaz), young Pakistani boys fought very well especially in the last four ties that helped boys in green finish ninth in the event. First they defeated Sri Lanka by 2-1, and then took on strong Uzbekistan team in the next tie. But this time, Pakistani young lads showed their class and fought bravely to win the crucial tie by 2-1. With such a heart-warming win and motivation and guidance by me (the coach), boys didn’t look back and played exceptional tennis and outclassed Thailand team by 3-0 to finish ninth in the Junior Davis Cup,” he added.

In the playoffs, the teams were called for 3.31 penalties per game and 4.16 penalties per sixty minutes (again, all for 5v5). Pakistan reports 76 coronavirus cases, no deaths in 24 hours
Pakistan has reported no deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has risen to 1,527,151. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,363 on Saturday. According to the latest figures by the National Institute of Health (NIH) 76 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Till now 13,559 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 8,098 in Sindh, 6,322 in KP, 1,023 in Islamabad, 792 in Azad Kashmir, 378 in Balochistan and 191 in GB.
