A 32-year-old taxi driver has been arrested after he overcharged an undercover cop HK$150 for a HK$27 ride at Lan Kwai Fong. Police’s operation was mounted from Friday night to the early hours on Saturday. The undercover cop hired a cab at Lan Kwai Fong and traveled to a destination on Hong Kong Island. Although the ride should be priced at HK$27, the cop was charged by the taxi driver HK$150, marking more than a five-fold jump. After preliminary investigation, the 32-year-old driver Chan was then arrested for overcharging the taxi fare.

The Housing Bureau organized the transitional housing open day on Saturday as operators seized the chance to introduce to the public the living environment, community services, transportation, and facilities of their projects and accept on-site applications. MANILA police have confirmed that five of their active members are allegedly involved in robbery and extortion. The incident happened inside a computer shop at about 11:20 p.m. on July 11 in Sampaloc Manila, according to a police report. "They demanded and took the money worth P40,000 from the owner in exchange for not getting arrested for illegal gambling. The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) announced on Friday the release of their English online learning platform, which provides primary school teachers and students with free learning resources such as videos, e-books, lesson plans and worksheets. The "Learning English with Little Leaf" project is developed by the university's Department of English Language Education together with their partner schools, and aims to create engaging materials for students to learn at school or at home. The project was piloted in five local primary schools, with the EdUHK academic team working closely with local teachers to gather feedback for enhancement. Today’s release includes six units of content, each covering a topic from the Education Bureau's primary English curriculum. The topics are taught through the lives and experiences of Leo the Little Leaf and his sister Lina.

(UPDATE) THE world's largest coast guard ship has joined other Chinese vessels that have been swarming near the Ayungin Shoal, which is inside the Philippines' exclusive economic zone (EEZ). According to United States-based national security expert Ray Powell, the CCG (China Coast Guard) 5901, nicknamed "the monster" because of its size, joined another CCG vessel, 4203, and the "still-growing swarm" of 32 Chinese maritime vessels in Ayungin, identified in international maritime maps as the Second Thomas Shoal. In the past, China has used its coast guard vessels and Chinese maritime militia to harass, intimidate and shadow Philippine vessels in the West Philippine Sea. Philippine security officials have not confirmed the latest massing of Chinese vessels in the West Philippine Sea. There have been numerous documented instances of Chinese vessels gathering in huge numbers inside the country's EEZ.
