Gibo, Agra for less restrictive campaigningMANILA, Philippines — Former defense secretary Gilbert Teodoro thanked former justice secretary Alberto Agra for initiating a petition in the Commission on Elections to amend Comelec Resolution 10370, which he believes is quite restrictive during this campaign period amid the pandemic. Teodoro, who is running for a Senate seat, echoed Agra’s call to include in the list of other forms of election propaganda the billboards and gadgets. He noted that the Comelec resolution narrowed the list of “other forms” of election propaganda. Teodoro, a former Tarlac congressman, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has limited the movement of candidates to campaign for themselves. He said allowing more forms of election propaganda would help candidates in presenting their vision and platforms and for the voters to know more about the candidates.

This comes after the FBI released wanted posters for Quiboloy and KOJC officials Teresita Dandan and Helen Panilag following their indictment in November 2021. Unsurprisingly, the online press conference was aired over Sonshine Media Network International or SMNI, the official broadcasting arm of Quiboloy's church. "Why is it that before President Duterte was president, we didn't hear any accusations like this against Pastor Quiboloy? The broadsheet at the time referred to Quiboloy's church as a "cult."

‘Cigarette butts account for 766 million kilos of trash yearly’Globally, more than six trillion cigarettes are produced annually, each containing filters or butts that are mainly composed of microplastics known as cellulose acetate fibers, UNEP said. MANILA, Philippines — Cigarette butts account for more than 766 million kilograms of toxic trash each year and are the most common plastic litter on beaches, according to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). When ingested, the hazardous chemicals in cigarette’s microplastics cause long-term mortality in marine life, including birds, fish, mammals, plants and reptiles. On Wednesday, a new United Nations partnership was announced to raise awareness about the environmental and health impacts of microplastics in cigarette butts, the most discarded waste item worldwide. It includes a political advocacy highlighting a recent European Union directive that requires tobacco products with plastic filters be labeled clearly.

MANILA, Philippines — Senator Nancy Binay on Sunday called on the development of a comprehensive medical waste management plan, as well as an information drive for COVID-19 self-test kits, amid piling medical waste. Apart from a waste management plan, Binay also proposed that the DENR, DOH, local government units and pharmacies to start an information drive by handing out flyers or information materials to those who intend to use self-test kits. Good handling practices must be observed because if it gets out of hand, it can be an environmental and public health hazard,” Binay said. This came just a few weeks after seven children in Catanduanes tested positive for COVID-19 on Jan. 24, after playing with medical waste which were illegally dumped and scattered at the shoreline of their village. It’s looking good for the Philippines in 2022From where I sit, it’s really looking good for our country in 2022. There are clear indications that the country is poised to have brighter prospects by the second quarter this year. “We are on the correct path to economic recovery,” Secretary Chua added – a sentiment shared by analysts, especially with COVID-19 cases showing a steady decline. There has also been a lot of interest in the Philippines as an investment destination, with many opportunities opening up for investors. “We know that the Philippines is looking for additional investment across the board especially in 5G, internet, clean energy, health and security areas,” she said.

MANILA, Philippines — Presidential aspirant and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday insisted that he obtained a degree from the University of Oxford. Victor Rodriguez also said that their camp “stands by the Degree confirmation which was issued by the University of Oxford” for Marcos. In the same month last year, Oxford Philippines Society, a group of Filipino students and alumni of Oxford, said that Marcos did not obtain a degree from the university. This was officially confirmed by Oxford University in 2015… Bongbong Marcos has been awarded a Special Diploma in Social Studies in 1978. A Special Diploma is not a degree, and neither is it comparable, superior nor equivalent to one,” the organization said.

PRESIDENTIAL Adviser for Entrepreneurship Jose Maria “Joey” Concepcion 3rdPRESIDENTIAL Adviser for Entrepreneurship Jose Maria "Joey" Concepcion 3rd on Saturday suggested that regions with high vaccination rate should require Covid-19 booster cards as an added precaution against Covid-19. "The booster card requirement makes sense in the NCR because they received their primary doses ahead of the rest of the Philippines. However, they are also at higher risk from waning immunity and must be encouraged to get their booster shots right away," he said. A total of 7.57 million booster doses have been administered across the country. The government's goal is to administer 72.16 million booster doses, including those for minors ages 12 to 17, by the end of the second quarter of 2022.

Rich man, poor man“The man who dies thus rich, dies disgraced.”This controversial quote came from Andrew Carnegie who is known as the father of modern philanthropy. A number of rich people are trying to follow Andrew’s example and have said that they are not planning to keep their riches in the family. The same article mentioned that actor Daniel Craig, who is said to be worth $160 million, thinks that inheritance is quite distasteful. Actor Jackie Chan, who has amassed a $130 million fortune, plans to donate his entire wealth to charity instead of leaving it to his only son. But whether you are planning to leave your estate to charity or to your children, never leave this world without a plan.

But these tennis hooligans reincarnate at Melbourne Park chucked the no-nos and made complete ignoramuses of themselves. Berretinni would tell Courier after winning his match that he didn't really think that the unruly bunch were "real tennis fans." In the 2022 Australian Open, Nadal was evidently the apple of the eye of the fans in the championship match against Medvedev. His come-from-behind triumph (he was two sets down) brought to 21 his total Grand Slam singles titles from all four majors. That would be a big loss for tennis because who else would the fake tennis fans bully?
