Among the teens praying fervently at Fort Bliss during last year's unprecedented arrivals of unaccompanied children was Elena, then 15. Elena told The AP that for weeks she asked God to let her out of the shelter as soon as possible. “When he arrived, you could feel like a peace, something that comforts you, something that you need,” Elena recalled during this Holy Week, which she’s observing with relatives far from El Paso. Rafael García, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish located four blocks from the border in downtown El Paso, celebrates Mass there, as he has at different shelters for five years. Jose de la Cruz Longoria, pastor at five Catholic parishes around Pecos, Texas, who ministers to teens at the shelter there.

Moto G52 to launch in India this month, rumor says
Motorola unveiled the Moto G52 earlier this week for European markets, but it obviously won't stay confined to those for long. In fact, a new rumor today, originating with an "industry source", claims that the Moto G52 will get launched in India before the end of this month. Interestingly (or weirdly) enough, the Indian Moto G52 is said to have a pOLED display instead of an AMOLED - with this being interpreted in marketing speak as "more shock-proof than AMOLED". The Indian Moto G52's screen will also be a tad smaller than the European version's, at 6.5" compared to 6.6", but it keeps the same FHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. There's also a 16 MP camera on the front, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The brand new vivo X Note was announced earlier this week with a gigantic 7-inch AMOLED display and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and now vivo is bringing an exclusive Aerospace Edition of the phone. The major change here is the packaging of the phone which features a much more premium experience including a special pendulum housing a piece of Achondrite meteorite from the Moon. The rare space mineral is stored in a glass housing and is attached to a leather strap. vivo X Note Aerospace EditionThe actual phone features a blue colorway and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The regular 12/256GB vivo X Note retails for CNY 6,499 ($1,020) but vivo hasn’t revealed the price premium for the Aerospace Edition variant.

A family with special connection to iconic DC Temple is excited for tours to begin
Faith and family history draw Douglas Fairbanks to the iconic skyline seen on the Capital Beltway. By the end of April, the temple — many know as the D.C. Mormon Temple — will open to people who aren't members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to celebrate a recent renovation. One of the members welcoming visitors is a young man with a special bond with the famous building through his family's faith and history — Douglas Fairbanks. "We drive by at least once a week, oftentimes more frequently than that," said his Galen Fairbanks, father of Douglas. But the most special sculpture for the Fairbanks family is the one that sits atop the iconic D.C. Temple — the gilded statue known as Angel Moroni.

Elon Musk is offering to buy Twitter, just days after the Tesla CEO said he would no longer be joining the social media company’s board of directors. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company.”The buyout offer from Musk is just the latest development in his relationship with Twitter. Only Vanguard Group’s suite of mutual funds and ETFs controls more Twitter shares. Musk has been a vocal critic of Twitter in recent weeks, mostly over his belief that it falls short on free speech principles.

Motorola seeding stable Android 12 to Moto G200
Motorola has begun seeding a stable Android 12 update to its Moto G200 in Europe. The firmware bears the S1RX32.50-13 build number and has rolled out to the XT2175-1-DS model of the phone. The former simply requires going into your phone’s system update settings and toggling the update. The Android 12 rollout for the Moto G200 has gone live in Europe while Latin America and the UK are expected to be next in line. Plenty of other Motorola phones are in line to receive the Android 12 update in the coming months and you can catch the full list here.

Capitol riot suspect wants jailhouse letters kept out of trial
Daniel Egtvedet, of Garrett County, Maryland, is scheduled to begin trial June 6 before U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper. In a response motion filed by the DOJ on Monday, prosecutors elaborated on exactly what statements Egtvedt allegedly made. Includes a letter he wrote to the Garrett County (MD) Sheriff that seems borderline sovereign citizen/constitutional sheriff-esque. Prosecutors have argued all of Egtvedt’s statements to police should be admissible and that the letters he wrote to the sheriff were voluntary statements. It was not immediately clear whether the Garrett County Sheriff ever responded to Egtvedt’s request.

At a media briefing late on Friday after a meeting of the Monetary Board, Governor Weerasinghe said the CB increased policy lending rates by 7 percent on Friday, the highest interest rate hike in recent times. Like a new broom that sweeps well, the Governor made the right choices saying the CB would be independent, transparent and be truthful to the people. At a meeting in July 2020, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa criticised Prof. Lakshman for not resorting to more money printing. “First of all, the Monetary Board, along with myself, is of the view that we have to be very proactive with our monetary policy decision making,” Dr. Weerasinghe said.
