(Police photo)Police on Friday seized nearly 2,000 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine that was being smuggled in a pickup truck loaded onto a ferry bound for the southern tourist island of Koh Samui, at a pier in Bangkok. On Friday morning, narcotics officers suspected a pickup truck while it was being loaded onto a ferry at the Seahorse Ferry Bangkok Pier (Saengthong Rice Pier) on Rat Burana Road. A search of the vehicle uncovered almost 2,000 kilogrammes of crystal meth, packed and concealed inside the truck’s enclosed cargo box. The ferry was bound for the resort island in Surat Thani, and police were investigating to determine the final destination of the drugs. Once the vehicle was loaded onto the ferry, couriers would fly separately to the province to retrieve both the vehicle and the drugs.
