The 22.5km Vikaspuri to Wazirabad stretch will now be completely signal-free, with the Delhi government all set to inaugurate the final stretch near Mukundpur on Friday. According to senior officials, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will inaugurate the flyover. The government has claimed that it saved Rs 12 crore in the project. The official added that more than 1.75 lakh vehicles use this stretch daily, and the signal-free stretch will account for more than Rs 5 crore every year due to man-hours and fuel saved, and lower carbondioxide emissions. The signal-free corridor has three elevated stretches and three flyovers.
