One can argue that films like Padmavati are hybrids between documentaries and fictional films and hence can be considered as PHR films. Several sections of population, politicians and public personalities contend that such films should be treated as regular fictional films. Using a sample of data from both students and general public post viewing of fictional films and PHR films, it was found that perceived external for PHR films was significantly higher than fictional films. Hence, one may conclude that PHR films may not be processed the same as general fictional films because PHR films elicit more critical evaluation and less narrative engagement. Consequently, given the unique nature of these PHR films it is suggested that CBFC does not process these films like any other fictional films.
