Ateneo set to release study on public perception of Philippine police


MANILA, Philippines — The Ateneo School of Government is set to release the results of a study on why the public has a low perception of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP). In a statement on Saturday, the PNP said that the study, titled “Leadership Study Diagnosing Factors Behind Success and Failure in the Philippine National Police”, will emphasize some of the elements that “build and erode” the qualities and performance of the police force. ADVERTISEMENT“For years, we have been searching for a clearer answer on the problem of low public perception of PNP, and now we seek the help of the academe to conduct this study,” PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa said. The study examined four main factors that positively or negatively affect the PNP: personality traits, organizational culture, demographic profile, and professional history. The study is set to be released on Monday at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
